What People Say
Most Liked
The diner is highly praised for its fantastic coffee, which many consider a must-have. Guests rave about generous portion sizes, often leaving with leftovers, which is always a bonus! Key City Diner is particularly known for its breakfast specials, with hearty options consistently winning over repeat customers. Their homemade soups and side dishes, especially the crispy french fries, are crowd favorites. The quick service deserves a shout-out, too. Diners appreciate how fast the food arrives – ideal for those on the go. All of this, wrapped up in a clean and well-maintained setting, keeps everyone coming back for more.
Most Disliked
While many love Key City Diner, some patrons have noted that the popularity can lead to crowded conditions, especially on weekends during peak brunch hours. This can sometimes affect wait times for seating and food. A few visitors have pointed out that the increased prices reflect the quality but may be higher than what they expected for a diner experience. The lack of a more extensive selection during off-peak hours is also mentioned, leading to disappointment on quieter days.
Another aspect that drew criticism is that, while the renovation has modernized the aesthetic, some regulars miss the nostalgic elements of the classic diner look and feel, claiming it lacks the charm of its former self.

They open up strictly at 7:00 a.m. the food was delicious everything was good. I have absolutely no complaints. The diner was on fire a few years ago and it burned down and they rebuilt it and did an entire restoration. The bathrooms are nice and clean as well. There's scrapple is good as well. It tastes almost like corned beef hash.

This place has been here since 1955 and was going down until it closed after a fire and refurbished the diner. It is much better than ever. The new owners also run the Nazareth Diner which is a top notch location. Key City has quick table service, friendly servers in fact seems they hire only the best. It is a very clean place. Generous portions of food. I notice many people walking out with boxes. Great choices on the menu but I am a fan of their breakfast specials. You can't go wrong here and will be coming back.

Had dinner at Key City Diner and it was so good! The food was fresh and tasty, the place has a cozy vibe, and the service was super friendly. Everything came out quick and hot. Definitely one of those spots you can always count on for a good meal. Will be coming back for

Renovation is excellent. It's better than expected inside. I grew up with the classic metal diner, I even remember the music boost the tables. That's all gone, replaced by very well built, clean and modern interior. The classic 1950s was very worn out, and impossible to replace so this new look is where they went. Portions were generous and tasty. Food quality is high. It's definitely priced above fast food, but below fine dining. I'm glad I came back and will visit again.

Key City Diner has been here for years and is well known for their great food and quick service. This is always a favorite place to stop for a meal when in the area. The diner is always very neat, clean and well-organized. The owners are very friendly and welcoming - which keeps me coming back. Their wait staff is top notch - it seems they only hire the best. They offer a very extensive menu. Their food is consistently good and they serve large portions. I have eaten here on numerous occasions and really like their breakfast meals. Key City Diner is easily accessible off Route 22 and they offer a large, free parking lot for their customers. Stop here anytime of the day or night and I guarantee you that you will have a fabulous meal. I highly recommend this diner!

This place is incredible. I routinely order breakfast here (2-3 times per week, at least) and it is always top notch. You cannot go wrong with the omelettes or pancakes (or anything for that matter). Entrees are also outstanding and the dessert and ice cream does not miss (highly recommend the affogato). Also service is great -- you can tell the owner sincerely cares for the business and it reflects in the staff. If you haven't tried Key City yet, or it's been awhile, just go. You won't be disappointed!

The food has improved since it's closure a few years ago. It's fresh, a good portion, and the menu is great. The taste of some foods could use some better seasoning, but at least it's not sour food! The service is great and friendly. I'm happy the diner is clean, too!
